The owners of Megafilm Kft. established Megafilm Service Kft. in 2008, which took over Megafilm Kft.’s leading film production role in 2014. Since then, the company has produced numerous award-winning productions that have also reached international markets. Its portfolio includes approximately 8 television films, 7 television series and 3 feature films, spanning a wide range of genres. Megafilm Service Kft. also handles the distribution of its own films in Hungary.
Megafilm Service Kft. is a film production company committed to genre films, emerging talent and films made for broad audiences. Through Megayouth, its competition for aspiring screenwriters, the company has also supported emerging talents in launching their careers.

When it comes to television films, Uncle Ványa - Bubblewaltz deserves special mention, a black comedy-drama television film that modernises Chekhov’s original play and places it in a Hungarian setting. Another production rooted in a literary classic is Almost a Bride, a true romantic comedy based on the events of Ferenc Herczeg’s A Fehér Páva.
The Hungarian drama MEMO, which explores the themes of forgetting and remembering, won the Prix Europa Award for Best European TV Movie in 2017.
Megafilm Service Kft.’s television productions also include The Mission, a six-episode military action-drama miniseries, and Fairygarden - Age of Temptations, an eight-episode historical adventure series based on the work of Zsigmond Móricz, depicting the life of the young Gábor Báthory and the history of Transylvania during that period.
The sitcom Munkaügyek and its spin-off series Tóth János, starring Zoltán Mucsi, were among the most-watched Hungarian television series for several years.
The comedy-drama series Csak Színház és más semmi and Egynyári kaland provided opportunities for female filmmakers such as Virág Zomborácz, Orsolya Nagypál, Krisztina Goda and Réka Divinyi.
One of our feature films debuting in 2026 is the romantic comedy Just One More Wish. Its protagonist, Juli, is a music manager in her early thirties. Juli’s life takes a dramatic turn when she comes into possession of a wish book that allows her to make any one thing disappear from the world. When she is tasked with launching the career of an unknown band, she initially uses the wishes to serve her own interests, until she finally realises that running away is not the answer and that she cannot think only of herself.
Also coming to cinemas in 2026 is Cheaters Welcome, a romantic comedy directed by Dénes Orosz that explores the themes of fidelity and infidelity. In the story, a loving wife publicly vows that she too will have an affair if she catches her husband being unfaithful. Her secret admirer sees an opportunity in this and does everything he can to take advantage of it. The only question is whether love can triumph over intrigue and desire.
This year, we have also embarked on an incubator project. Chili Pepper & Gunpowder is a completely unique take on the hungarian eastern outlaw genre. Its synopsis is as follows: In the spring of 1860, a young countess, Teréz, escapes the guardianship of her tyrannical brother and, together with a soldier and a doctor, takes shelter from a sudden downpour in a rural fishermen’s inn. A group of outlaws also seeks refuge there after a failed train robbery, and tensions gradually escalate within the confined space as everyone fights for survival.
